The International Affairs and Diplomacy (IAD) Program at Ming Chuan University proudly congratulates its alumna, Mayte Quiroz from Honduras, on being selected as one of only 32 young leaders worldwide to participate in the UN Climate Change Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) Hub Youth Event in Bonn, Germany. Chosen from more than 1,300 applicants, Mayte’s achievement highlights her outstanding leadership in international affairs and climate action.
During the program, Mayte exchanged ideas with government officials and representatives from international organizations on youth-led climate initiatives. She was also granted accreditation to participate in the UN Climate Change June Climate Meetings (SB64) and the ACE Dialogues, where she gained valuable insights into international climate governance, sustainable development, and global partnerships.

Reflecting on this achievement, Mayte shared:”This journey did not begin in Bonn. It began in 2011, when I received a Taiwanese Government scholarship to study in Taiwan and later at Ming Chuan University. That opportunity changed my life and ultimately led me to this meaningful moment with the United Nations. I will always be grateful to Taiwan and Ming Chuan University for believing in me and supporting my journey.”

Mayte’s achievement reflects the impact of Taiwan’s international education and scholarship programs while demonstrating the IAD Program’s commitment to preparing globally minded professionals. Her journey continues to inspire future IAD students to pursue meaningful careers in international affairs, sustainable development, and global cooperation.
