The TaiwanICDF last week held its orientation for this year\u2019s scholarship recipients, welcoming 157 new international students from 31 countries as they embark on an exciting academic journey in Taiwan.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event was organized by Ming Chuan University. Distinguished guests included TaiwanICDF Deputy Secretary General Steven Lee, Ming Chuan University Vice President Lynne Lee, as well as ambassadors and representatives from several countries that are diplomatic allies of Taiwan: Eswatini, St. Kitts and Nevis, Belize, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Tuvalu, Palau, and Somaliland. They offered their well-wishes to the incoming students.<\/p>\n

Deputy Secretary General Lee encouraged this year\u2019s students to embrace their studies in Taiwan with humility and courage, pursuing academic excellence and fostering a spirit of giving back to society. Notably, several distinguished guests at the event\u2014Ambassador Donya Lynex Francis of St. Kitts and Nevis, Ambassador Katherine Meighan of Belize, and Counsellor Shebby- Ann Dennie of St. Vincent and the Grenadines\u2014were once TaiwanICDF scholarship recipients themselves. Ming Chuan University alumna Ms. Camila S\u00e1enz also spoke at the orientation. In addition, Dr. Yi-Shin Chen, Director of the International Master Program in Information Systems and Applications at National Tsing Hua University, and Dr. Yi-Wen Chang, Directo International MA Program in Studies of Arts and Creative Industries at Taipei National University of the Arts, engaged the new students with practical advice on academic success and adapting to life in Taiwan.<\/p>\n

The TaiwanICDF Scholarship Program currently partners with 21 universities across Taiwan. To date, a total of 3,277 students from 70 countries have benefited from the program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
