After a 3-year hiatus due to the pandemic, our program, in collaboration with Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs are proud to announce the return of the “2023 Asia-Pacific Journalism Grant Program”. With a meticulously crafted itinerary, the program garnered high praise from the participating foreign journalists.<\/p>\n

From February 12-18, a delegation of 6 journalists from Europe, the USA, and the Asia-Pacific region embarked on visits to various businesses, public institutions, and civil organizations in Taiwan. Additionally, a panel was held at Ming Chuan University’s Jihe campus, in collaboration with foreign media correspondents, aimed at gaining a better understanding of Taiwan’s media ecosystem and its pressing issues.<\/p>\n

Dr Nathan, Liu, Director of our program who accompanied the visiting delegation, noted that the “Asia-Pacific Journalism Grant Program” was established in 1998, by the U.S. Congress-founded research institution in Hawaii “East-West Center” (\u6771\u897f\u4e2d\u5fc3), which focuses on research, education, and international exchanges.<\/p>\n

Since 1998, the “Asia-Pacific Journalism Grant Program” has been held 13 times, with the aim of arranging visits by mainstream journalists from the U.S. to the Asia-Pacific region. Through dialogues and exchanges between the Asia-Pacific region and the American press, the program hopes to enhance mutual understanding between the two sides, promote exchanges with industry professionals, and gain a more direct and in-depth understanding of issues related to diplomacy, finance, and global trends.<\/p>\n\n\n
